Everyday shopping and food
Supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies and specialist food shops line Avenue Pasteur and Avenue de la Faïencerie. The Glacis hosts the monthly open-air market, and the same square becomes the site of the Schueberfouer funfair for three weeks between late August and early September.
Banking, post and administration
The quarter belongs to the commune of Luxembourg City and the Bierger-Center is a ten minute walk or one tram stop away. Banks, notaries and post services are grouped on Avenue de la Faïencerie and in the adjacent Ville Haute.
Shops and services
Medical practices, crèches, gyms, hairdressers and laundries are distributed along the main avenues. The quarter is also where several international institutions and language schools have their city addresses, which keeps the daytime population mixed.
Transport and connections
The T1 tram runs through Limpertsberg, which is the quarter's decisive advantage: Hamilius is a few minutes away, the central station follows, and Kirchberg is reached without a change. City buses fill in the streets the tram does not serve, and all public transport in the country is free.

Evenings are quiet residentially, with cafés and restaurants clustered around the theatre, Avenue Pasteur and the Glacis. The bars and restaurants of the Ville Haute and the valley are a short walk or a single tram stop away.

The Parc Municipal Édouard André runs along the southern edge of the quarter down towards the Ville Haute, and the Glacis itself works as open space for most of the year. The Pfaffenthal valley and the paths along the Alzette are reached by the lift at the edge of the plateau.

What exactly is included in the rent?

An identity document, proof of income such as an employment contract or your two most recent payslips, and, for non-EU nationals, the relevant residence document. Nothing else is needed to start.
